Congratulations to all for your support in making our Read-a-thon a success.  The day was dedicated to literacy-based activities around the theme of Mythology.  The twelve hour day was the culmination of study of Greek and Roman mythology, Latin and Greek word origins, studies of youth fiction based on mythology, literary references, dramatic presentations, mythology cookies, and more.  Because we met our goal, Dr. Lanham dressed as Medusa and even kissed a horse!!

Over 200 students stayed after school until 8 p.m. to participate in literacy activities planned and delivered by Cox's Creek teachers and staff. Everyone enjoyed a pizza supper and the chance to wear their PJs as they participated in reader's theatre myths, literature-based crafts, author studies, web-based mythology games, and mythology jeopardy. 

We appreciate our staff and parent volunteers for their commitment to students as they made the evening a memorable event!!  BRAVO!!

Tuesday, March 27 was MATH night. 30+ students worked with the literacy team while 30+ parents met with grade level teachers on the new math standards and participated in math activities!  We invite you to attend our next math night on April 23rd at 5:30 p.m.
